A Great Day at the Bonds Conway House!

It was the July 20 gathering of descendants of Bonds Conway, builder of the c.1812 home now headquarters of the Kershaw County Historical Society. Outside and inside the house, family members from across the country reviewed their ancestor’s history. Bonds Conway was the first African American on local record to purchase his freedom from slavery.
